^Yeah...meat could be a good idea but what if it came from a hostile mob? Like, rotten flesh. But it could be like Rotten Cocatrice or something, and it debuffs you if you eat it. However, you could put it on the Altar and "clean" it, like Cleansed Cocatrice, and it would be good to eat and heal a lot of hunger.
If theres a place for Rotten Cockatrices it wouldn't be in the Aether for sure... Perhaps the Nether?
The cleaning part does sound nice though, finally giving a reason for Rotten Flesh from the Zombies.(Then again, wouldn't that become Human Flesh? ew.)
Didn't really mean that, was focusing more on the fact that it was rotten. It's like, the heaven should be completely...Angelic, while on the other hand the Nether should be full of rotten and dead monsters.
The whole deal is about Meat. Meat is not an Angelic feature, its a mortal one. Something the gods created so that spirits could join the Overworld and the Nether. Eating flesh (meat) would be the same as eating the creation of the gods for those spirits and, therefore, it can't be allowed in the Aether. Maybe if they did so in the nether (as Chuankai said) I could agree, but its a complete NO on the Aether

How about more decoration blocks such as Aether Bricks? You can now find new Heavenly Clay which can be smelted into an Aether Brick. Aether Bricks are basically just like regular bricks but a light blue color. You can make special Aether Flower Pots (Which have Aether Dirt in them, instead of regular dirt. This makes it so that you can only plant aether plants in Aether Flower Pots.) and Aether Brick blocks. Maybe a new ore could be added, too? Aether Quartz. Aether Quartz is just like Nether Quartz but has a dark blue color like lapis lazuli.
Maybe some new weopon types? For example, you can freeze Aether Quartz into Cold Quartz. You can throw Cold Quartz at enemies and they will get the slowness effect for 4 seconds. You can sharpen your Cold Quartz and get Sharp Cold Quartz which you can throw at enemies. Sharp Cold Quartz gives the slowness effect for 4 seconds and does a heart of damage.
Maybe an upgrade for the Continuum Orb? You can combine 4 Continuum Orbs to get a Block of Continuum. Place the block down and shift click it and you will get a random item. However, you have a higher chance of getting a good item from a Block of Continuum.
Okay well if meat is out, then yeah, maybe Orange soda would be a good idea, a new food type would be liked be all. Aether flower pots are a good idea. ^i don't really understand why you think throwing quartz would hurt mobs though...
