Man the aether is a great mod, but i think there should be some new stuff, what do you guys think?
^^ i like that idea marco, but my idea was a "floating lake", like a lake of Holywater that is floating by itself, not connected to any blocks, in open air. Im not sure how this could be programmed, but it would look AWESOME!
the idea that only 1 block of Holywater would flow up is a good one. =)
I thought that aswell, but how could it be done? The lake has a chance of 0,002% of spawning in any 6-15 radius area as long as every Holywater block is at least 3 blocks away from everything that is not Air blocks? Would the Holywater blocks float forever, or would there be a way to make the water fall? Can you get it with a bucket? Does it have special properties? Would it affect mobs somehow? Would special mobs Spawn in the Holywater? (passive mobs, like small fishes, of course) Would you be able to use the Fishing Rod in it? Can you "delete" the water by placing a block on its place? Does it gives any buffs if you are swimming on it?
Too many questions man.
Too many question.
For how it could be done, if the team likes it then they can pretty much create a water block that floats up...I think.
I don't know much about coding, but if they can make Gravitite blocks float up then why can't they do it with water blocks?(Only that it might be way more difficult I guess)
A floating lake would be cool, but wouldn't it seem out of place? I mean, Aether is pretty much giant floating islands so a floating lake without any blocks... I don't know, it just seems weird to me.
yea, i see your point, i just thought that a whole lake of holywater, all floating up would look bad.
OOH, i just had idea!
maybe the lakes could spawn on the bottoms of islands or overhangs!
Bottom of the islands?
idk, just an alternative to the floating lakes, and also could be a "safety feature" so that if you're mining, and you acidentally mine through the bottom of the island, you wont fall to your death as easily
Do you know would be cool? If you could bring the Holywater to the Overworl and, then, it would damage every undead unit for 2 hearts per second (Because it is holy!) for as long as they maintain contact with it.
i likey =D
hey guys, i was just surfing the web, and i found this page=
maybe we could pull some good stuff from this?
It is kinda being used already...
I mean, "Aether" means Clear Sky, Pure Sky, Pure Air. That would explain why Overworld torches doesn't work in the Aether... But as I have wrote several times before, I think we should have some aether-specific effects because of the air condition (like buffs or debuffs)
