Skyroot Mimc
Disambig This page is about the mob. For the block version, see Skyroot Chest Mimic.

A Mimic is a neutral Mob in the new Slider's Labyrinth that looks like a normal Skyroot Chest, but when revealing itself it takes on the color of a normal chest. It will attack when the player opens a Mimic. Mimics are provoked when a player attempts to open the chest (right click) or when players attempt to destroy the chests. It should also be noted that Mimics have quite a lot of health, making them even more dangerous than the other monsters. They drop a skyroot chest upon death.

Identifying Mimics

There are a few ways to identify if a dungeon chest is a Mimic; some of the easiest ways are listed below.

  • Is slightly more orange-colored compared to wood.

Strategy

Mimics are easy to fight; the suggested strategy to fight them is to simply walk backwards and hit them with a Sword. The second way to easily dispatch a Mimic is to make them fight each other, which they will do if there is another Mimic in the room. They will completely ignore the player and go after each other, making it an easy way to kill them and not risk your own health.

Known Bugs

  • As of Aether II Alpha, Mimics will drop items as if they were chests, when aggroed, even though they shouldn't. This is probably due to a bug on the item randomization code, or else, the game can't recognize the diference between the Chests and the mimics (Maybe mimics are recognized as Block entities [such as chests] before they get aggroed and become Monsters) this is fixed in later versions.
